Samburu Safari

Overview

Spanning 165 square kilometers along the picturesque Ewaso Ng’iro river, this renowned safari destination is a haven for unique and diverse wildlife. Itinerary

Day One

Nairobi – Samburu National Park

We will pick you from your hotel or residence at 8:00 am and depart from Nairobi. Our journey will take us through the Agricultural farmlands on the slopes of Mount Kenya as we appreciate the rich countryside. Our means of Transport will be the 4×4 tour van which is superb for rough weather terrain.

This park is situated within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, who are close relatives of the Maasai people. A delicious picnic lunch will be served on the way as we refresh ourselves.

We will arrive at the semi-arid and open savannah plains of Samburu Game Reserve in time for our evening game drive in the renowned park. During the drive, we will visit the Gerenuk Circuit and Lion circuit as well.

Samburu has a high profusion of the Somali Ostrich, Sun-birds, Marabou Stork, Tawny Eagle, Bateleur, Vulturine Guinea fowl, Lilac-breasted roller, Buffaloes and other grazers as well. Dinner and overnight will be at the well maintained Edwards Camp (self-contained with hot and cold shower).

Day Two

Game Viewing Safari in the Park

On this day, you will have a full day of game viewing in the park which is a famous place for great wildlife and the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen.

The park harbors a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in any large numbers. These include the Grevy’s gazelle, the Reticulated Giraffe and the Beisa Oryx; all species only found north of the equator. In Samburu National Park, we also have many Elephants and they can be seen clearly along the Ewaso Ngiro River. Meals and overnight at the splendid Edwards Camp. Our yummy packed lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.

Day Three

Samburu – Nairobi

This is our final day in Samburu National Park. We will wake up at 6:30 am for our morning game drive as we watch the Sunrise illuminating the Samburu rich plains.

With an early morning game drive, we will track the elusive Leopard. Additionally, we can’t leave the World Renown National Reserve without visiting the Buffalo and Hippo Circuit. We will visit the Cheetah Circuit and might witness the fastest animal hunting the Grant’s Gazelle or an Impala!

Birds of Prey like the Vultures and Eagles are in plenty here since they are assured of getting food. We will come back to our Superb Camp at 9:30 am after tracking various species of animals. Our main breakfast will be ready as we relax and enjoy the Serenity of Samburu Land.

At 10:00 am we will begin our journey back to Nairobi with our delicious lunch en route The expected time of arrival in Nairobi is 6:00 pm, with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
